|
|
I've been on estrogen and progesterone pills for 3 years now and I've recently stopped them because I thought I've taken them long enough, time to learn to live without them!
I've switched to some herbal and naturapathic supplements to help the transition and I think they're helping, but I'm still going mad with hot flashes. My doctor gave me Efexor for it (she knew I wasn't going to go back on estrogen) but when I got home and read the package info, it said it was for depression! To top it off it the package info had all these warnings about addiction.
What should I do? Did the doctor give me the wrong meds? |

Natural menopase remedys are the way to go...HRT islinked to brest cancer, wieght gain, bleeding and nasea. as for anti-depresants, well some doctors prescribve them for menopase but they do more harm than good iwth sleep disruptoin, sexual disfuction, wieght gain, headaches all common side efects.
Try changing your diet to includ more fytoestrogens - found in soy products/legumes/green vegies mainly, also try herbal suplements like remifemin, black cohosh, dong kwai and wild yam cream. If you have mood swings/depresion try St johns wort BUT do not take it at while your taking Effexor as it may have unexpected affects |
