Hi all, just doing some research for my mother who is going through menopause.
She is 51 years old and has been experiencing servre hot flashes that wake her up during the nite, this will happen at least half a dozen times a night!
is anything my poor mom can do to rid of this nusiance or at least alleviate the symptoms?
thanks |

| Get your mum to the doctor for a blood test. If she has menopause the doctor can confirm it and give her Estrogen pills for her symptoms. |

it is confirmed she has menopause and she has been on some sort of estrogen pills but they don't seem to helping that much.
are there some estrogen pills that are more effective? how about natural remedies?
thanks for your prompt reply btw! |

Simple things that can help include exercise, yoga and drinking a lot of water. Make sure to drink most of the water before dinner time so you won't have to wake up to go to the bathroom!!
Also get her to ask her doctor about alternatives to estrogen. There is an increasing number of non estrogen options for treating hot flashes and also a growing list of alternative and complementary medications and life style changes that have been used to treat hot flashes. Most remedies will help some women but not all so make sure she checks with her doctor to find out what will work for her which can take time and effort - so be patient!! |

| i don't know for her but i'm using activella for the time being... it's for women going through menopause.. but still, she should go to the doctor as there are different types of medicines that suit some people and not others. |
